The Sentinel catches the fabricated dependency at segment 14 because the phrasing carried a certainty that nothing should carry unchecked. Their attention tightens precisely where everyone else’s releases. The hallucination sounded authoritative. The Sentinel noticed it sounded only authoritative. In a discipline now saturated with plausible output, the ability to distinguish confidence from correctness is the whole game.
Shadow: Proof Spiraling
Seeking proof past the point where proof was found. The third check on something that was correct the first time. The fourth re-read of output that passed every test. The spiral deepens with each pass because the Sentinel’s own standard rises to meet whatever confidence they’ve accumulated, ensuring they can never feel done. “I’m proof spiraling” is the sentence that breaks the loop.
